Welcome to 42, a Science-Fiction and Fantasy fanzine, created by fans, for fans. We are currently in the process of setting up, but if you would like to know more, visit our blogspot at www.42zine.blogspot.com, or email us at admin@42zine.com
OUR PHILOSOPHY
42 is a science-fiction and fantasy online magazine dedicated to representing fandom as it truly is. Our mission is simple: by the fans, for the fans. The creators of 42 became increasingly aware that online fandom does not have fair representation in the outside world. We feel that fandom is often overlooked and under cherished. Our aim is to give fandom a voice; to let the fans that support, appreciate and follow sci-fi to express their own opinions. We aim to cover all aspects of science-fiction and fantasy: books, television, internet and film.
THE WAY WE WORK
42 relies on fan participation to go to print. Every month we collect together the best articles submitted to us and produce a downloadable PDF magazine. We aim to gather news on new projects, explore fan opinion on projects currently available and remember science-fiction from the past.
If you would like to submit an article, please do so by emailing submissions@42zine.com. Your subject can be any of your choosing – a review of a film or book, thoughts on your favourite TV show, comment on fandom’s place in the outside world. When submitted, we will proof-read your work and then print it if we feel it is suitable for 42. Edits will consist of spelling and grammar corrections only. If you would prefer we sent back our edited version of your work before we printed it, please leave an email address and ask us to do so. We will then send back the final copy of what we intend to print and ask you for permission to use it as edited, before we print. If you do not request for us to send your work back, we will print with our corrections without checking with you first.
We can’t pay for your articles, nor can we guarantee we will print everything you will submit. 42 is a fan-run organisation: we do this for the fun of it. We hope that this makes us more dedicated to our cause. We take pride in fandom, and all it entails. |
